My Journey

When I look back at this photo it fills me with all the joy I felt on that day. The Bluebell 5 was my first race in May 2012 just six weeks after I took up running and a birthday present to myself. It was five miles off road and I absolutely loved it.

Having enjoyed sport all my life I took up running when my daughter, LĂ©onie, asked me if I would like to take advantage of a reduced price for an Aaron Tyler running course through her employers. Having just come to a crisis point with the sporting love of my life - horse riding and competing at preliminary dressage level - I was looking for something that would give me the same levels of fitness. And, of course, what Mother turns down an offer to spend time with her daughter?

So two years down the line and I am still running and competing and loving every minute of it. I still keep up with my other sporting likes which include spinning, supple strength (a lovely combination of yoga, pilates and Tai Chi), cycling and hiking.
